The Bar

Our wonderful bar has been designed as the focal point of The Stag. Around it you’ll find cosy corners for intimate conversations and more open areas for larger groups to meet. The log burners and subtle lighting create a very welcoming and warm atmosphere, allowing you to relax and enjoy your favourite tipple in complete comfort.

You can rest assured that the bar will be stocked with all your favourite wines and spirits plus of course a regularly changing array of local ales, lagers and ciders. Most important of all, the bar at The Stag offers a warm welcome from both the staff and our regulars. Even if you come on your own, the chances are you will leave with new friends!

The Restaurant

Our restaurant has been completely redesigned, allowing for a more traditional dining experience away from the bar. But let’s face it, nothing is formal at The Stag. The restaurant is there for you to feel comfortable no matter what time of the day you visit, whether it’s for tea and cake in the afternoon or a more substantial meal in the evening with your loved ones, you will feel relaxed allowing you to enjoy the flavours of Martin’s fabulous home-cooked food.

The Garden

The Stag garden has been beautifully re-landscaped with access directly from the bar. It’s a place to enjoy a relaxed drink or perhaps a tasty bar snack or meal. After dark, the subtle illumination creates a magical atmosphere and the perfect backdrop for a memorable evening.

We have also planted a fantastic new kitchen garden where Martin and his team are growing some of the ingredients for our exciting new menus. There’s nothing more local or sustainable than homegrown!

It doesn’t matter how you travel…

Whether you arrive on foot, cycle, horseback or by car, we have catered for, and welcome everyone. We have built our very own cycle hub that has a place to meet and securely store your bike. We even have an area where you can tie up your horse so you can stop off for a drink or bite to eat. We’re all about community at The Stag, so join in and be a part of our ever-growing family.
