The most vital ingredient of a successful pub is people, and that’s what we’re passionate about. Our ethos here at The Stag is to provide a fantastic service with a super-friendly team, work with talented local suppliers and deliver a memorable experience to all our guests.
Our long opening hours and extensive food and drink offering means we can offer something for everyone, including walkers (less muddy boots), cyclists (with somewhere secure to leave your bike), horse riders (with somewhere to tie your horse) and motorists (enjoying a stop-off on a Sunday drive). We are open for ladies (and gentlemen) who lunch, passers-by looking for a restorative coffee and those with a passion for afternoon tea.
We welcome organised groups looking for a pit stop but would appreciate a bit of warning so we can ensure we are able to provide the level of service you deserve.
Whether you’re out for a cycle on your own, or with friends or part of a club and fancy a stop off point and meeting place for a coffee and bite to eat then The Stag is the place for you. Our dedicated Cycle Hub offers secure bike storage and an under-cover meeting space. We also have a stock of useful tools and pumps (and handy charging points) for on-the-spot maintenance.
Let’s face it, Mentmore and its neighbouring villages are a beautiful place to ride your horse. But how often have you wished there was somewhere along the way with hitching posts to securely tie up and stop for a drink and something to eat? Well, now there is! We just request no horses in the bar, please.
The Stag is surrounded by some of the best driving roads in the country, so where better for a ride out than to explore the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside with a pit stop at The Stag, which is renowned for often having rare and exotic cars parked out front.
